New Student Registration & Fall 2025 Core Class Schedule
New students can view the fall 2025 core class schedule (updated 8/18/2025). This is subject to change, so please continue to check back here for the most up-to-date version.
During the first semester, students will be in class Monday-Thursday between 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with a break for lunch, career sessions, and club events mid-day. Most students spend their lunch breaks and Fridays attending Carlson Business Career Center information sessions, club meetings, or meeting with their core teams.
After the first semester, most students' schedules include a combination of day, evening, and online sections. The program also has condensed courses that typically meet on three consecutive Fridays or Saturdays between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
The Academic Affairs & Student Engagement Team will register all students for the first semester in mid-August following the core team creation process. Watch your UMN email inbox for information on the CATME Survey which is used in the process in July.
International students must complete their immigration check-in process with International Student & Scholar Services once they arrive in the US to avoid holds that will impact registration for future semesters.
Dual degree students may contact Katie Kocourek (kekocour@umn.edu) if they have any questions about registering for classes for their first term or their shared degree requirements.
The Carlson School provides an opportunity for core course waivers for students with previous Carlson School graduate coursework or a valid CPA license. You can view the full policy here. Please contact AASET at aaset@umn.edu for more information or to petition a course waiver in line with this policy.
