Boynton Health's Food Pantry is open the last week of every month during the semester (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), from 12-6pm on the 1st floor of Memorial Union (Room 103A), across the lounge from the theater.
Any student can visit the food pantry. No proof of need is required.
Students choose from available food items during their visit. We encourage students to bring their own bags to carry items. However, in case of need, paper bags are also available.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for UMN students can help you with extra cash to buy groceries. Students can take this initial screening survey to see if you are eligible.

A team of staff from several departments across the university with administrative, psychological, academic and legal expertise. The team operates within FERPA/HIPAA requirements. The goal is to provide a coordinated response to situations arising from students who may have the potential to harm themselves and/or others.

If students live outside of Minnesota, Boynton has case managers available to assist with locating local resources that align with individual students’ insurance situations.

Let's Talk: A program that provides informal virtual and in person drop-in consultations for U of M students throughout the academic year. Counselors can listen to specific problems, provide support, help explore solutions, and give information about other resources. Let's Talk is not designed to provide crisis support and is not a substitute for formal counseling.
Boynton Health also offers PAWS (Pet Away Worry & Stress) for the University of Minnesota community which are FREE sessions that feature registered therapy animal teams. SCS offers both individual and group counseling for a range of concerns including mental health, academic difficulties, career uncertainty, and more. SCS has moved to a hybrid model and offers both onlin and in person services. Note that SCS requires that masks are worn for anyone who is in person. All brief initial consultitions have been moved to online only. SCS is offering emotional support/mental health services in two primary ways
Student Counseling Services (SCS) offers a range of online educational workshops, affinity groups to connect and create community, and therapy groups for increased support and moving toward healing or change around specific challenges. Students are able to learn new skills and strategies, connect with one another, and share difficulties and experiences in a safe, supportive online environment.
Student Counseling Services (SCS) has started offering video/phone support for the emotional and mental health needs of students registered for classes on the twin cities campus who are currently in Minnesota. Current SCS clients who are physically in the state are able to schedule in-person or video appointments with their counselor. If you are interested in starting counseling services at SCS please complete intake forms. Intake forms will be accessible Monday-Friday from 7am-5pm

The Aurora Center's mission is to serve all victims/survivors/concerned people of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment at the University of Minnesota and Augsburg University. The staff at the Aurora Center are available in -person and virtually during business hours, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Clients are able to contact staff via email at aurora@umn.edu or by phone at 612-626-2929. Staff may schedule a secure video conference with clients for follow-up. Aurora;s 24 Hour Helpline, 612-626-9111, remains operational.

All full-time residential program students who are admitted to a degree program and are registered for six or more credits per semester that count toward the automatic assessment of the Student Services Fee are required by the University of Minnesota to have health insurance.
