The Center for Health Interprofessional Programs (CHIP) is a student-driven, interprofessional community that values co-curricular education, equity, and wellbeing. CHIP fosters a sense of connectedness and belonging among health science students at the University of Minnesota through collaborative initiatives that enhance health professional education. We provide a platform for emerging leaders in healthcare to develop the relationships and skills they need to thrive both personally and professionally. All health professional students at the University of Minnesota are part of CHIP!
CHIP provides countless opportunities to build community and pursue your passions interprofessionally - whether it is involvement or leadership in a student organization, attending or presenting at the student leadership conference, or connecting with other students in our interprofessional physical spaces - CHIP will help to enhance your health professional student experience. BeWELL is a multifaceted, co-curricular, and interprofessional wellbeing initiative that provides health professional students with programming, activities, and physical spaces to nurture connection and belonging on an individual and community level. Programming incorporates community engagement, leadership development, equity and diversity practices, and community building.
The BeWELL initiative falls under the Center for Health Interprofessional Programs (CHIP). BeWELL programming is overseen by the HSEC Wellbeing Programming Committee, which includes members from across the health sciences, and collaborates with wellbeing experts across campus to provide accurate and relevant programming.
From our Interprofessional Student Garden, to the BIPOC Health Professional Collective, to our webinars and other activities, there are plenty of ways to nurture your wellbeing through BeWELL! All health professional students are automatically added to the monthly newsletters, and students can find more programming information on the BeWELL website. To further connect with BeWELL, email bewell@umn.edu or complete this interest form.
