One new Graduate Research Assistant position is available immediately at the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the UMN Medical School.
This position is funded by an ongoing NIH-funded study working with racially, ethnically, culturally, immigrant/refugee, and socioeconomically diverse families and children living predominantly in Minneapolis-St Paul. The main aim of the observational study is to identify social and structural determinants of health.
We are looking for students with the following skills and experience:
- Masters (first-year) or PhD level (first- or second-year), fluent in Spanish, Hmong, or Somali, and interested in project coordination and data collection. Familiarity with accelerometry and using the ActiLife software is a plus.
Investigators are also interested in applying to an NIH Diversity Supplement for this position, which would allow the interested student to receive grant funding in their name as part of this research experience.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thank you!
Junia

Subject: Health Promotion Student Associate position
To: Victor Massaglia <victorm@umn.edu>
Hello Vic!
I'm hiring for a Health Promotion Student Associate again, as the current employee is graduating in May. This is the third year of the position, and it will run the second half of spring semester and then the full following academic year. The pay is $20/hr, 15-20hrs/week. (pdf position description linked here)
I've had a lot of success and really enjoyed working with the past/current employees: Kate Weis & Elena Tran--both PHAP students. All that to say, I'd welcome another PHAP student or students from another focus area!
If you are able, please share this opportunity with SPH students who graduate May 2024 or after.
Kate

I hope you all enjoyed the holidays!
I work in the Youth Health and Housing Lab in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health at the School of Medicine and we are currently hiring for a part-time role. I was wondering if you could share the attached JD with your students?
Dr. Gewirtz O’Brien is an E-PHAP alum and lovely to work with. We'd love to have more Public Health folks on our team!
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
