Onboarding

HealthPartners/Park Nicollet uses SS4L (Shared Space for Learning) for onboarding. SS4L instructions are below.

SharedSpace4Learning (SS4L) Instructions

SharedSpace4Learning (SS4L) is the system used by all HealthPartners/Park Nicollet hospitals and clinics to organize and track clinical rotations and communicate information about onboarding. All UMN medical students are asked to create a SS4L profile when rotating at a HealthPartners site.

Please follow the steps below to create your profile. (If you have created a profile previously, you will not need to create another one). Once you have a complete profile, we will use SS4L to apply for and onboard you to rotations you have scheduled through the UMN. Please complete the following steps immediately so you are ready to go. Keep a record of your username and password as you will re-use this profile for all experiences at HP/PN.

During certain times of the year, please be prepared to enter influenza and Covid vaccination dates or a reason for declination

Create a Profile

Using Google Chrome, go to www.sharedspace4learning.com

Click on “Signup”. Choose the “Learner” icon. Then click “Create Account”.

Enter your UMN email and create a password, along with your name. Please use your full legal name. Nicknames or incomplete names confuse the system and delay onboarding.  (There is a field for preferred name)

SS4L will send a verification email to the email address you provide. Verify your account.

Once verified, go to sharedspace4learning.com and click “Login”.  Enter your “Signin” (email address) and the password you created.

Click on “My profile” on the left.

Later, when you have a rotation set at one of our associated hospitals or clinics, you will be contacted and asked to log back in to complete additional steps. HealthPartners uses SS4L to facilitate completing your onboarding tasks—consisting of things like acknowledging that you have read and understand privacy and codes of conduct, accessing Epic training, and receiving communication from the rotation coordinator about your clerkship. Demographic information in your profile is used to request badges, parking, and computer/Epic access.

Welcome to HealthPartners!

Visiting Medical Students

Visiting students who go to HealthPartners for their clinical rotations should complete their SharedSpace4Learning (SS4L) profile as described above with the additional step of entering their home institution.  After entering University of Minnesota Doctor of Medicine as your institution and program in the current enrollment section:
