Required Clerkships
AY 24-25
76 clinical credits are required for graduation. This includes 3rd year required clerkships, 4th year required clerkships, acting internship courses, and 28 weeks of elective clerkships. Students take these credits over the course of 104 weeks and will have approximately 24 weeks of unscheduled flexible time, factoring in school breaks between years 3 and 4. This time can be used for residency interviews, study time for USMLE exams, vacation and research.

OBST 7500 (Obstetrics/Gynecology)
PED 7501 (Pediatrics)
ADPY 7500 (Psychiatry)
FMCH 7600 (Family Medicine)
NEUR 7510 (Neurology)
SURG 7550 (Essentials of Surgery)
Becoming a Doctor I & II
two 1-week courses in 3rd year; all students scheduled for this on-campus course during designated intersession weeks (see calendar)
4th Year Required Clerkships
EMMD 7504 (Emergency Medicine)
[pre-req MED 7500 and SURG 7550]
INMD 79XX (ICU Acting Internship)
[pre-req MED 7500, and depending on the activity PED 7501 or SURG 7550]
Acting Internship Courses (multiple course choices)

Becoming a Doctor III & IV
two 1-week courses in 4th year; all students scheduled for this on-campus course during designated intersession weeks (see calendar)
Most students will have their 3rd year core required clerkships scheduled through lane scheduling. Students unable to take all of the 3rd year core required clerkships during their 3rd year will schedule the missing courses during Round 1 of the MS4 Initial Scheduling.
Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (LICs) will fulfill different required courses. Reach out to your academic advisor for questions on which courses are covered by the LIC.
