Scheduling and Registration

Scheduling

Students are able to schedule courses in MEdIS, which shows their plans to take various courses for an entire year.  Although the course is on their schedule and course personnel may be planning for that student, registration for that course may happen at a later time.  MEdIS sends scheduling information through to the University system during the current semester so that the student can be registered. Students are asked to pay attention to prerequisites and add/drop deadlines when scheduling courses.

Registration

Registration signifies that a student is enrolled in a course in the University system in addition to being scheduled for the course in MEdIS. Once a student is registered, the course will appear on their unofficial/official transcript in MyU.  Although the schedule is based on periods, registration happens on a semester basis, similar to undergraduate courses. Courses will not show up on a student's transcript until the semester that they are scheduled to complete them.  Students are responsible for making sure that scheduling matches registration.  Please ensure that you are checking your scheduled courses in MyU on a regular basis to ensure that you are registered correctly. You can find your scheduled courses in the Academics tab.

Credit Eligibility

In order to be eligible for and access student resources, students may need to be registered for a minimum required number of credits.

3 credits per semester--Students are eligible for federal financial aid.  Some loans and scholarships require full-time enrollment of 6 credits per semester.

6 credits per semester--Students are eligible for University health insurance and University student services.
