Required Courses
Requesting an Exception to the Approach to Step 1 and Clinical Scheduling 2024-2025
Students may request an exception to the Approach to Step 1 and Clinical Scheduling 2024-2025 if their request meets the all of following criteria:
The student wishes to move a course instead of dropping their remaining coursework
The request is submitted prior to the applicable add/drop deadlines for both the vacated period and the requested period. This is to ensure that vacated capacity could be used by another student.
The student has reviewed course capacity and sees that available capacity displays in MEdIS for the requested course and period. Please keep in mind that capacity that appears as available may just be in the process of being filled by another student.
Students must submit requests for exceptions that meet the above criteria by emailing Dr. Holly Proffitt at proff022@umn.edu.
Do You Have Some Flexibility in Your Schedule?
Students who know they have some flexibility in their schedule and may be willing to take a required course in a different period can share that flexibility by completing this form. These responses will be referenced only when there is capacity that otherwise is going to go unused.
