The World’s Education Journal by CISC (WEJC) is a peer-reviewed academic journal initiated and managed by the CEHD International Student Community (CISC). WEJC publishes English (multi-language) manuscripts in education across all disciplines offered at the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), University of Minnesota (UMN). Manuscripts must focus on contexts outside the United States of America and should appeal to all readership. WEJC is particularly interested in manuscripts emphasizing the co-creation and celebration of knowledge within the college community. This digital journal serves as a repository, synthesizing presentations and shared knowledge from the series, highlighting profound insights and learnings about global education systems from the perspectives of our scholars. It also explores innovative strategies for distribution and communication, fostering robust connections and collaboration.
This open-source journal, The World’s Education Journal by CISC (WEJC), was created from The Colloquium on the World’s Education System Series, a conference created by CEHD International Student Community (CISC), to celebrate the international students' intellectual contribution to the College of Education and Human Development. The journal is our continuous effort to support our mission of promoting international students' visibility on campus.
Our application is open in conjunction with the Colloquium on the World’s Education System Series. The first series for The World’s Education Journal by CISC (WEJC) is scheduled for the Summer of 2025.

All manuscripts must be original and have not been previously published or are currently under publication consideration elsewhere. All manuscripts submitted to WEJC will go through an initial screening by the WEJC editorial team. The editorial team will then decide whether or not to send a manuscript for a double-blind peer review by two invited reviewers.
The author(s) is responsible for anonymizing the manuscript and any associated materials by removing their names, affiliations, and any other potentially identifying information from the manuscript to ensure its anonymity.
WEJC publishes one issue annually (oftentimes in alignment with the Colloquium on the World’s Education System Series). Submissions to WEJC can be made by the end of the colloquium, following the WEJC submission guidelines, which can be found on the journal website (https://sites.google.com/umn.edu/cisc/colloquium-on-the-worlds-education-system-series/submit-a-manuscript). Accepted manuscripts will be published online first and will later be included in one of the two issues.
The World’s Education Journal by CISC (WEJC) is purely student-run, with its Editorial Board rotating annually from different CEHD International Student Community Board members. The CEHD International Student Community (CISC) board members are international students or students who identify as international students and are committed to supporting and advocating for the international student community within the College of Education and Human Development. To ensure and deliver the organization's mission, the board is composed of undergraduate and graduate students who aim to bring significant changes to the diverse CEHD community. Serving Board Members interested in becoming the World’s Education Journal by CISC (WEJC) should also have experiences and be interested in learning about publications.
