Welcome 

I am looking forward to exploring the Hispanic world through the eyes of its women with you. In this class, you will expand your knowledge of the Spanish language and culture from a feminine perspective. This class in not only for women; it is open for all genders. I invite men as well as other gender identities to take and enjoy the class!

Course Description and Goals 

In this class, you will learn about the role of some Hispanic women that were relevant in history; as well as current women that fight for an equal, inclusive, and a more diverse world. In addition, we will explore Hispanic communities of women that play important roles in their societies transmitting their values, traditions and identities for younger future generations. The goal of this course is to explore the Hispanic world from a feminine perspective in order to have a better understanding of the Hispanic world. In addition, we will discover the important roles that women had and have in their communities and how they empowered their selves to make a difference in the world they lived. Finally yet importantly, we will use the topic-context of the course to develop the foundation of you basic Spanish language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) by using the class material, interacting and communicating in Spanish at an Intermediate to Mid-High proficiency level.
