Gus Evrard will lead a discussion about gender-based findings on U-M’s Problem Roulette service:

Based on many millions of responses to the service over eight semesters across three STEM subjects (Physics, Chem & Stats), we find that on average females put more effort into studying and appear either equally or nearly as prepared as males, having similar mean correct response rates on PR, yet they tend to earn lower mean letter grades, reflecting lower exam scores.

I’ll describe ideas for PR service interventions being planned for the next development cycle, and demo a new group study mode that will go live this Fall.
