Event Logistics (February 9, 2024, Crepeaway Washington, DC, RECON )
(#Music #Community #Faith )
This event was so fun and it was very energetic. Campus Outreach is a faith based group and I joined them back in the first semester. We went to this place in DC called Crepeaway in Downtown DC where they play music and you're allowed to dance on the tables while they serve you crepes. I have never been to something like this before and it was the first time that I went to a place like that and it was so fun! Also earlier that day we had a discussion about God and we just decided to go out and see what DC had to offer us. We just danced all night and they played 2010s music like Icona pop, demi lovato, and Lady Gaga. I really loved how everyone else was there and most people were from other colleges from DC like Gerogetown and American and it was nice to see everyone just have a good time and meet new people. I feel like music brings a lot of people together and creates long lasting memories. I also think it’s very important to have a set of people that you can lean on and to have your back.
Event Logistics (March 8, 2024, Kristen and Alex Song's House /Kairos, Fam Friday/Farewell Songs)
( #Music, #Community, #Love, #Food)
This event was an emotional one for me. Kristen and Alex were my Christian mentors and on Fridays, we would ave fam Friday at their house and then we would have dinner, have bible study and then play games. Kristen and Alex are going to Vietnam for a year for missionary work and come back if it's God's will. I think what I most enjoyed about this last fam Friday was that everyone was together sharing their favorite memories will the Songs. Their one year old baby is so cute and I'm really going to miss her. She can't walk yet but hopefully she'll learn how to walk in Vietnam. During this night we had chicken and shrimp kabobs and for dessert we made a chocolate fountain and dipped strawberries, pretzels, brownies etc. Later on into the night we sang Christian songs and we had our music team play the guitar and we all sang in a big group. It was a very intimate moment and it is something that we will cherish for a while. After this, I had a closer relationship with Kairos which is a Christian ministry on campus, to have people that connect with me and share the same views as me is very important to me on this journey that I'm on, and I wouldn't trade it for the world (literally).
