All answer sheets need to be uploaded to your Competition Profile by midnight, the day after the Competition closes.
We will send you an email reminder on the morning of the deadline.
Scanning:
Firstly, you will need to scan the paper answer sheets onto your computer. We have recently increased the file size limit for uploading your completed answer sheets. You can now upload files of up to 14MB. If you have too many answer sheets for 1 file, you will need to put them into several different files and upload each file individually. It does not matter what these files are called.
Helpful Tip: Please make sure you scan the pages in black and white, as it helps reduce file size, making it quicker to upload and easier to read. Coloured pages can make answers illegible and cause difficulty recognising the QR code.
Please note: Do not upload any rough work, blank sheets, or seating plans.
If a student has skipped a question and it contains no writing or diagrams, please do not upload the blank page; however, any attempt to answer the questions (even scribbled out) should be submitted in case working marks can be achieved.
It is possible to upload a lot of sheets in one go. This is based on printer settings. Please talk to your IT department for more help with this.
Uploading:
From your Competition Profile, you need to select the ‘Answer sheets - upload’ menu option.
Here you will see some brief instructions and a box to upload your files. Clicking in the box will allow you to upload the files from your computer, or you can simply drag and drop your file to upload.
Checking:
Unfortunately, due to the large scales of our Competitions we are currently unable to check individual uploads for schools, but we are investigating future ways to help highlight if an upload needs amending.
To check your own uploads, please visit your 'Answer sheet - upload' tab. Here you can re-download your uploads. Below are some reasons as to why your answer sheets may be rejected that are worth double-checking. Please note that 'Processing/Uploaded' usually means that the file has successfully uploaded, though you should still check the troubleshooting notes below.
Rejected Answer Sheets:
The scan needs to capture the corner markers and QR codes on each page. Below are some example of why your answers sheets may be rejected:
Missing QR code
Missing corner markers
Graffiti/doodling on the answer sheet/QR code
Shadows
Answer sheet not straight/upside down
Please note: If your students' answer sheets have been rejected due to defacing it and this is not rectified before the upload deadline, we will not be able to accept any new answer sheets and your student may be left without a score and certificate.
