WELCOME TO FRENCH at UIC!
Early Alert Program
This course participates in UIC’s Early Alert Program (https://earlyalerts.uic.edu).
What are Early Alerts?
A way for me to let you know that your current performance in the course puts you at risk of earning a D, F, or U. Early Alerts help you connect with advisors, coaches, instructors, and other resources that can support your success.
When might you receive an Early Alert?
Early Alerts are sent while there is still time in the semester to improve your performance and successfully complete the course. [You may add a course-specific timeframe here, such as “after the first exam” or “during week 4.”]
How will you know if you receive an Early Alert?
You will receive an email from iAdvise@uic.edu; you can also view the alert in your iAdvise Dashboard.
What should you do if you receive an Early Alert?
Review the feedback carefully and take action as soon as possible. This may include meeting with me, contacting your advisor, or using the recommended support resources. [You may want to add course specific resources here, such as “meet with a TA.”]
Why should you pay attention to Early Alerts?
Early Alerts are intended to help you succeed. They identify concerns about your progress and provide an opportunity to address challenges early. The sooner you review the feedback and act on it, the more likely you are to improve your performance in the course.
