Workshop on STEAM Education in the 21st Century

SID Lab had the privilege of conducting a workshop on “STEAM Education in the 21st Century” for faculty members of KP Colleges at HEART Academy, Hayatabad, Peshawar, on 24 August 2026.
The workshop was jointly organized by the Higher Education Archives & Libraries Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar.
The session focused on understanding the STEAM framework and exploring how Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics can be integrated into teaching to foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and practical learning. Participants were introduced to SID Lab's STEAM initiatives, hands-on activities, and technology-driven projects, along with practical approaches for connecting classroom concepts with real-world challenges. The session also featured an interactive STEAM activity and practical demonstration, allowing participants to experience the approach firsthand.
Workshop speakers were Dr. Safdar Marwat, Engr. Waseem Khan, and Romaisa Amjad, while Muhammad Ali provided technical support during the workshop.
TechVerse 2026

SID Lab participated in TechVerse 2026 as a Community Partner, contributing to an engaging platform focused on technology, innovation, collaboration, and practical competition. The event provided students and technology enthusiasts with an opportunity to showcase their technical abilities, exchange ideas, and engage in challenging technology-driven activities. Dr. Safdar Marwat, Director SID Lab, and Sumaiqa Alam contributed to the event as judges, supporting the evaluation process through their technical expertise and professional insight. The SID Lab Robotics Team, comprising Syed Zawar Shah, Muhammad Ali, and Sher Nawaz, also participated in the competition, demonstrating technical skills, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. SID Lab’s involvement reflected its continued focus on promoting practical technological learning, student engagement, and innovation. The event provided participants with a valuable opportunity to connect, compete, and further develop their capabilities and interest in technology-related fields, contributing to broader technological learning, collaboration, and professional development.
Closing Ceremony of the STEAM UP Summer Camp 2026 (Batch-II)

SID Lab successfully concluded Batch 2 of STEAM UP Summer Camp 2026 with a closing ceremony marking the completion of the summer learning program. The camp provided participants with an interactive and practical environment to explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through engaging learning experiences, emerging technologies, and hands-on activities. Throughout the program, participants developed key skills including creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation. The closing ceremony marked the culmination of their learning journey and reflected the camp’s focus on fostering interdisciplinary learning, practical exploration, and continued interest in STEAM-related fields.
STEAM UP Summer Camp 2026 (Batch 2) Commences with a Focus on STEAM Education and Hands-On Learning

SID Lab welcomed participants of Batch 2 of STEAM UP Summer Camp 2026, marking the commencement of a program focused on STEAM education, creativity, innovation, emerging technologies, and hands-on learning. The camp provides an interactive and practical learning environment where participants will explore diverse areas of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through engaging activities and practical experiences. Throughout the program, participants will have opportunities to develop creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation skills. The initiative aims to provide meaningful exposure to contemporary technologies and interdisciplinary learning while encouraging participants to engage with STEAM concepts through practical and exploratory experiences.
SID Lab Hosts Workshop on Innovations in the Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT)

SID Lab, in collaboration with the AWS Student Builder Group, UET Peshawar, hosted an insightful seminar on "Navigating the Depths: Innovations in the Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT)."
The session offered participants valuable insights into the latest developments in underwater communication, intelligent sensing, AI, cloud computing, and the emerging landscape of the Internet of Underwater Things.
Dr. Ruhul Amin Khalil of UAE University shared his expertise and valuable insights, and thanked all participants for their enthusiastic engagement throughout the session.
Closing Ceremony of the STEAM UP Summer Camp 2026 (Batch-I)

The closing ceremony of the STEAM UP Summer Camp 2026 (Batch-I) was held at the Video Conference Hall, UET Peshawar today, marking the successful conclusion of an engaging learning experience focused on creativity, innovation, collaboration, and hands-on exploration. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sadiq Khattak, Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
The Vice Chancellor commended the efforts of Dr. Safdar Nawaz Khan Marwat, Director SID Lab, and his team for providing an enriching environment to empower the next generation of technology leaders. Prof. Dr. Syed Waqar Shah, Dean Faculty of Electrical and Computing Engineering; Prof. Dr. Amjad Ullah Khattak, Chairman Department of Electrical Engineering; Dr. Khizar Azam Khan, Registrar UET Peshawar; and Dr. Fawad Haider, Director CDC, along with senior faculty members and parents of participating students, attended the ceremony.
STEAM UP Summer Camp 2026 (Batch 1) Officially Begins

SID Lab welcomed a vibrant community of young learners eager to explore, collaborate, and discover. Through thoughtfully designed interactive sessions and hands-on experiences, participants were introduced to an environment where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and learning extends beyond the classroom.
Young minds from Army Public School, Frontier Children's Academy, Saint Mary's High School, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) School, Frontier Corps Public School, Qadims Lumiére School and others participated in the camp. and were engaged in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through practical exploration, developing confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills needed for the future.
FAST NUCES Faculty Visits SID Lab

SID Lab was honored to host a delegation from FAST NUCES, Peshawar Campus, for an academic exchange focused on IoT laboratory development, research infrastructure, and emerging technologies. The delegation included distinguished faculty members and academic representatives, including Dr. Suleman Mir, Dr. Maqsood Khan, Dr. Usman Abbasi, Dr. Kashif Javaid, Engr. Asif Khan, Engr. Muneeb Suhail, Engr. M. Usman Malik, and Engr. Waseem Ullah. During the visit, Engr. Waseem Khan presented SID Lab’s research ecosystem, highlighting its contributions in Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Embedded Systems, Cybersecurity, Robotics, and Edge Computing, along with its achievements in research, training, and technology outreach.
