Hydration: Staying Hydrated

Lesson Goals:

  • Learn the importance of drinking enough water.

  • Know how much water is recommended daily.

  • Understand tips for how to drink more water throughout the day and put into action.

  • Identify warning signs of dehydration.

Lesson Materials:

  • Power Point Presentation

Optional:

  • Water

  • Pitcher

  • Ice

  • Orange, Lemon slices, or fresh fruit

  • Water balloons

How to Use:

  • Display presentation to students with 10-15 minute discussion of background information

  • Complete optional activity of fruit infused drink

  • Complete physical activity of swimming demo

  • Complete optional water balloon toss
