I work in the food service department. I support the cafe, meaning taking stock, inventory, making sure that the customers are satisfied. Also, I prep food as well, and handle the money. I also manage the paperwork to make sure everything is lining up to where it needs to be. Before I started up here I was a cook in the actual kitchen here, so that's where I started in the CEB.
A day in my job can be crazy, but it’s also exciting, because I know what I do. It can be stressful, I’m not going to sugarcoat it, but even just for the simple fact of having a job I’m grateful. And then to be able to work with you guys, the University of Delaware students, it’s a wonderful experience.
My best quality is my personality. I’m an outgoing person. It helps me understand how to deal with my customers. Coming into this position was the most wonderful thing for me. I love what I do, so it makes the whole job a lot easier.
Something my colleagues might not know about me is that I am a grandmother. And I’m a widow. Having a job and being a mother are my greatest accomplishments.
What's unique about me is my hair and my makeup! In my free time I like to color. I do hair. I sing. I like to walk. I love to go out. And I love being a mother.
What makes me the happiest? Life.
