I am the security supervisor in the CEB. We make sure that the building is secured and safe for the students. Every person that comes into the building has to come through us and the metal detector. If the detector goes off, we have to check the bags and make sure nothing is in there that could be harmful to the building. I basically make sure everyone is doing their job, and I go on my rounds through the building to make sure everyone is safe. I check the parking lots, the playgrounds, and I also go around and make sure there are no leaks or fires in the building.
I would say one of the best qualities that I have is that I am friendly. I personally like to make sure that all the students from our schools and university feel welcome when coming into the building, and our staff, as well. We are here to support the community and Wilmington, and it is something I love to think about when it comes to this job.
Something some of my colleagues might not know about me is that I am a gamer, I play a lot of games in my free time and after work. It's like an escape from everything I have to do. I am also a collector, I like to collect small trinkets.
I would have to say one of greatest accomplishments is being the father of two kids, and being there for them, and working hard to make sure they have an amazing childhood and life.
