How to "use" Project Coaches?

  • Project Coaches will be hosting technical AMAs for every project in every track.
    • The AMAs are a chance for you to ask your Project Coaches any questions around a current project - it could be technical or general!
    • These AMAs will take place in the project channels. (e.g. abnd_proj_1) To things organized, please try to keep your questions relevant to the channel. For instance, if the AMA is being held in the "proj_1" channel. then questions should revolve around Project 1 and not Project 2.
    • Check your track's calendar under the Calendar tab for track specific AMA dates and times.
    • We'll open up new project channels as we pass every project deadline
  • A few reminders:
    • Remember that there are only a few Project Coaches per track, but many of you!
    • The Coaches are there to help you, but they also have other responsibilities besides your course, so please take into account that they are not available 24/7
    • Please always try to post your questions in one message (not each line of text in separate line – it's hard to follow!), and always use threads for replying.
  • In case you need immediate help with a project, it may quicker to reach out to your classmates in the #live_help channels or your personal mentor.

What kind of benefit will I get from attending a Project Coach AMA Session?

You don't need to have a question to participate in the Project Coach AMA session! You can learn a lot from just attending. Here is a sampling of some of the tips shared recently in an AMA:

  • Ryan: "Hey everyone, here is a tip for project submissions: follow the rubric! i know it sounds cliche but the rubric outlines the project entirely. follow it and you will be fine!"
  • Ryan's on how to stay focused: "You never want to force something. if you aren't feeling it, you aren't feeling it. It's okay to come back with the right mind that is fresh. You have to make a choice to and stick with it."
