RASC Benet was designed and created to:
Process Death notification and obtain the email address or street address for the Survivor if the info is missing
Send a Questionnaire to the Survivor and process the responses
Analyze benefits eligibility of the Survivor and if eligible, assemble and send the Survivor Packet of forms with a cover letter
Send the Analyst Benet's eligibility analysis of the Survivor case
Track the status of each Survivor case and keep the Survivor informed
Warn the Analyst when a Survivor case requires attention, e.g., medical insurance expiring
Warn the Manager when a case has been excessively delayed
Warn the Survivor if their response has been delayed
Provide dashboards for managers, analysts, and different campus officers
Respond to requests from the Survivor, the Analyst, and the Manager
Maintain statistics of Survivor Benefit processing: Packet delivery, return, award letter, and payments
Provide a complete case history for each Survivor
Archive data from past cases
The purpose of RASC Benet is to make sure Survivor cases do not get lost or forgotten, and by accurate tracking, to be able to respond to the Survivor when they ask "What is the status of my case?" RASC Benet reduces the time for the Survivor to receive the Survivor Packet from 40+ days to one hour. RASC Benet directly handles Survivor status requests, eliminating the need for Survivor telephone status calls.
