Raspberry PI Boot Camp

The first boot camp will take place at 6-8 pm, May 31, Basking Engineering 301A.

Here are the instructions for the UCSC Raspberry PI Boot Camp.

• Apply. The form requires @ucsc.edu login.
• What to buy. Buy one of the configurations recommended there.
• Before the boot camp. Please do these steps before you show up for the boot camp; you won't be able to get anything done otherwise.
• First installation steps. Begin here when at the boot camp.

Depending on the kit you have bought, you can then follow these tutorials:

• Building a webcam
• Playing with buttons, LEDs, and Twitter

As you can see, these tutorials all involve making the RPI "do something" (use the camera, read button state, control LEDs, ...) and then making its state known via a web interface. We are developing an uniform approach to deploying software on RPIs and making their output accessible via the SlugIOT platform for internet-of-things.
