Lecture 3

Reading

• Chapter 3 (overview) of the web2py book. I strongly recommend reading this over the course of the next week.

Resources

• Web2py book
  • Web2py installation (see also beginning of the class video). Use the source code "for normal users". In particular, this is the zip file.
  • Then, go into the applications directory of web2py, and do:

git clone https://luca_de_alfaro@bitbucket.org/luca_de_alfaro/web2py_start_2016.git start

• The above line will create the start application, which you should be able to access at http://127.0.0.1:8080/start (assuming you are running web2py from port 8080; otherwise just replace 8080 with the port from which you are running it.
• The code we developed in class is in the lect3 branch; to view it, do:

cd start

git checkout lect3
