Management

Discussions do not always run themselves. They often require an instructor’s intervention. Your participation (and/or your teaching assistants’ participation) can shape a discussion in beneficial ways: 

• Modeling “good” posts (i.e., the kinds of posts you expect from students)

• Showing students the possibilities for multimedia posts

• Reinforcing insights and correcting misunderstandings

• Guiding the discussion with additional questions
