Dance Assessment Information

The Dance Academy will be accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Freshmen Dance Class. 

Students accepted into the Dance Academy will take core dance classes specializing in technique, choreographic methods, dance history, and anatomy. Students have the opportunity to take elective classes in choir, theater, tech theatre, and apparel design.

The following are required materials prospective students must submit to be considered for the Dance Academy. Students also need to apply to CATA via Scribbles. For more information, please go to the "How to apply to CATA" Page

 Required Materials:

One minute solo: This may be in any style of your choosing. 

Please answer the following questions in video format.

1.  Why have you applied to the CATA Dance Academy?                            

 2.  What are your future goals with dance?                                                   

3.  How many years have you studied dance? What styles have you studied?    

4.  What's your greatest strength as a dancer?

5.  What's your greatest weakness as a dancer?

6.  What are the most important traits a dancer should have?

7.  What do you like to do when you're not dancing?    

8.  Describe a time when you disagreed with an instructor. What happened?

9.  Is there anything else I should know about you.
