Chair/advise members of FUSHA (Friends of USHA)
Preside over all executive board and general body meetings
Preside over discussion in an unbiased manner
Serve as the official spokesperson of USHA and develop relations with other campus student organizations
Serve on the housing leadership committee
Carry out all policies and actions of the general body
Serve as the chairperson for all elections
Help develop the annual budget for approval
Attend the MACURH Regional Leadership Conference (RLC) and Regional Business Conference (RBC) as UCM's RHA President, and attend bi-weekly MACURH chats
Fill in for the Executive Director if they are unable to fulfill a specific duty
Approve & recommend legislation and bring it to the floor of the general body
Serve as the liaison between UCM USHA and the Midwest Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (MACURH) and the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH)
Lead Moo Crew meetings as chair, and attend MACURH chats as UCM's RHA NCC
Encouraged to attend an NRHH general body/executive board meeting once a month
Keep accurate minutes for executive board and general body meetings
Distribute minutes of all general body meetings to members of USHA, advisors of USHA, and any professional staff of University Housing
Keep an accurate and up-to-date record of all finances concerning USHA including, but not limited to, a running ledger or purchases and expenses
Develop, with the Executive Director and Advisor(s), an annual budget for USHA and present it to the General Body for approval
Recommend changes to the Constitution and bylaws in conjunction with the Associate Director of Regional Communications to the general body, as seen fit
Keep an up-to-date, accurate collection of attendance for General body meetings, committee meetings, and office hours; and give monthly updates to the Executive Director
Maintain an updated list of all members of USHA, including all relevant data
Give weekly reminders to all USHA members, indicating meeting dates, times, and locations
Serve as a professional, and informational resource, on behalf of USHA. Respond to correspondence within a professional and timely manner, to any messages that are brought towards the organization
Assist in USHA publications and publicity for projects, events, and press releases, flyers, the Union bulletin board, etc.
Head the Campus Programming Committee, by setting up and running each committee meeting, as well as lead the organization and planning/execution of the programs supported by the committee
Inform the general body of what the Programming Committee is planning
Incorporate a variety of types of programs (educational, social, diversity, and passive) events throughout their term
Ensure communications with the DAF in regards to upcoming events and assistance
Head the Recognition and Service Committee, by setting and running each committee meeting, as well as lead the organization and planning/execution of the recognition and service supported by the committee
Inform the general body of what the Recognition and Service Committee is planning
Coordinate the submission of OTM(s), in support of NRHH for each month
Encouraged to work with the NRHH Recognition and NRHH Service Committees
Ensure communications with the DAF in regards to upcoming events and assistance
Dawson is a senior kinesiology major and this is his fourth (4th) year in student housing leadership. Upon graduation, he will be completing an summer internship at Georgetown University, and then attending graduate school at the University of Oklahoma for a Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education. He has two (2) dogs, is an avid maker of smoothies, athletics, and has a passion for political engagement!
Jasemine is currently a freshman majoring in criminal justice and is the Associate Director of Regional Communications for USHA. Jasemine enjoys working on puzzles, reading, and jogging but mainly likes to keep it easy when she has free time. As of right now, she has a plan to continue into law school after graduating with an undergraduate degree in criminal justice.
Alexia is currently a sophomore majoring in accounting and is the Director of Administration and Finance for USHA. Alexia enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends in her free time. She plans on pursuing her master’s degree in accounting at UCM once she has completed her undergraduate. She wants to help small and micro businesses once she graduates.
Kory is a sophomore who also goes by Kourtney and Honey around campus. She is involved in several organizations including: USHA, NRHH and Modern Language Club (MLC). Kory works with the Alumni department and runs a small business on the side. She has an ESA (Emotional Support Animal) on campus, which is a big lab named Khan. In her free time she plays with her dog, creates art, and reads.
Abby is the USHA Director of Service and Recognition. Abby is currently a freshman at UCM as an undergraduate. Abby’s major is Biology Pre-Vet. Abby likes to bake, fish, and hunt in her free time. Abby also likes to volunteer for whoever asks her to help. Abby wants to become a full time veterinarian that wants to go to vet school after she graduates UCM.
Lizz is the USHA advisor. Lizz serves full time as the Housing Leadership and Apartment Complex Manager for University Housing. Lizz spent time at UCM as a student, earning a BA in English with a minor in music before attending Valdosta State University, where she received her Master’s in Higher Education Leadership. In her free time, Lizz enjoys trying new crafts and spending time with her cat, Hazel.
