Every year there's an Annual Stars Reception awards ceremony hosted by USHA and NRHH, and this is to recognize those in student housing leadership who have dedicated a plethora of time to benefiting the residence hall community. Below are listed the awards and their respective descriptions. In the spring semester, the housing leadership committee will solicit for nominations and the reception takes place towards the end of April.
At the 2021 NACURH Annual Conference, held in June 2021, UCM was awarded the NACURH OTM Traveling Award for the first time in our school's history; and became the first institution in the Midwest to earn the award in the last decade! UCM authored 77 OTMs and had a total of 745 points.
This pin is the highest individual honor given by the USHA or NRHH President. The pin shall be awarded to individuals who have provided leadership and direction to their campus organizations.

This award is intended for an outstanding program that helps foster a sense of community, education residence, and/or establish meaningful connections within a residence hall/apartment community. Programs nominated are those that are creative in nature. This program is not to be a sole Community Advisor (CA) program. Programs nominated must either be a Hall Council/USHA program or in collaboration with a CA.
This award is intended for the residence hall/apartment floor that has made outstanding contributions in the residence halls including programming, involvement, and an overall sense of community established.
The Advisor of the Year Award is intended for Hall Council Advisors that play a key role in the success of residential student organizations. They are the stronghold of the executive board, serving as the troubleshooter, mentor and support system. The Advisor of the Year recipient is truly the epitome of a role model to their residents, staff, and executive board. This is not to be confused with Community Advisor.
This is awarded to an outstanding resident who has shown outstanding contributions to the betterment of the hall on the basis of involvement, commitment, and positive relationship building.
This honor is awarded to an outstanding student leader who has shown great dedication and commitment to the residence halls. This award is given to a junior or senior residence hall leader and is the highest housing leadership award.
The Executive Board Member of the Year goes to an individual that has tirelessly worked to impact residential life in many ways and through their organization, help make programs, events, and their group a success. This award intends to
The unsung hero award is intended for an individual who goes above and beyond to make substantial, yet unrecognized, contributions; and a person who refrains from claiming too much in return for their efforts. This person may not have the loudest voice within a community. They are often some of the most driven individuals that are the catalyst for many successful initiatives.
This honor is awarded to an outstanding student leader who is an emerging leader in their first or second years. This student serves as a positive role model to the residential community and will continue to thrive within their future leadership roles.
