Each residence hall is represented by a group of student leaders called a Hall Council. While all residents of the building are a member, a small team of students help to provide fun events, hall improvements, and represent the needs of those residents to USHA and University Housing. Interest will be solicited at the beginning of each semester.
Hall councils are the most crucial parts of USHA. They directly respond to residents and plan the activities and events that occur in their halls. Hall councils receive a budget from housing which is funded from a fee paid by all residents. Hall Council executive boards and the advisor have the discretion on how to spend their hall council's funding. Many of the pool tables, flat screen TVs, and gaming equipment were purchased by Hall Councils.

USHA hosts a variety of programs: Family Weekend, Family of the Year, Color Run, Coolest Room Contest, Project Safe, etc. Programs are an excellent way to come show your support for USHA, win free items, and make new friends. In addition, there are opportunities for members of hall councils to join committees! There are two (2) committees: Recognition and Service Committee & Campus Programming Committee. These two committees are available to join and are excellent ways to engage, and put on programs or service that you would like to see happen! You can find the link here. Committees meet during USHA general body meetings.
The Hall Council Presidents meet twice each semester with the USHA Executive Director (President Roundtables), and hold monthly one-on-ones with the Executive Director. This is to provide the best support and answer any questions, connect with other fellow presidents, as well as to provide leadership development opportunities to the presidents.
