This rotation takes place at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, commonly referred to as "the Maz". Trainees on the UAH Cardiology rotation will become familiar with Maz Level 5 which is home to the Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CICU) 5A7, the Ward 5A5/5A6 units, and the resident call rooms. Trainees will also become familiar with the attached University of Alberta Hospital while supporting the Cardiology Inpatient Consults and Emergency Consults services.

Parking

Paid parking lots and parkades around the Maz/UAH hospital site are maintained by Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the University of Alberta (U of A).

U of A Parking Lot Locations

The parking lots and parkades operated by the U of A tend to be less expensive than those operated by AHS. The Jubilee Car Park, located between the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium and the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy (ECHA), is the least expensive option at $15/day although overnight parking is not permitted and parking is restricted during Jubilee performances and events. A good alternative that does not have any restrictions is Lot L located around Corbett Hall which costs $18.00/day.

The residential areas around the Maz/UAH hospital site require a residential parking permit. Free parking can be found beyond these permitted areas.
