The BScN-Honors Program provides the same clinical preparation as the standard collaborative program. In addition students will gain more in-depth knowledge in the area of research and -- mentored and supported by a Faculty of Nursing researcher -- carry out Honors research activities within the context of their supervisor's research program. Honors research activities will include a range of research experiences and network-building within the context of team-based research.

The BScN Honors program is an internal application program for students who are currently admitted to the BScN program, and applications open October 1st. Students apply to the Honors Program in Year 2 of their BScN and will begin their Honors Research work starting in Year 3.
Contact the Nursing Academic Advisors to obtain a form that will allow the Honors coordinator to evaluate whether the Honors program is a good option for you. The Honors coordinator, Dr. Hannah O'Rourke, may contact you and follow up with a couple of questions.
You will be asked to submit the Special Programs form in order to access the Honors Program application form. Complete and submit the application by the deadline of March 1st.
Once you have submitted your application, please check your application status in Launchpad. If you meet the admission requirements, you will be offered admission with conditions and you will need to change your program from Collaborative to Collaborative Honors in Bear Tracks. Then you will register in your courses according to the Collaborative Honors Registration Guide. The Honors coordinator will consider your interests to match you with an available supervisor.
Final admission will be offered once the final transript is evaluated and you've maintained the admission GPA.
