Oncology Club

Oncology is an exciting, rewarding and rapidly evolving field in medicine. A career in oncology offers the gratification of helping patients through a deeply worrisome time in their lives, a focus on multidisciplinary care and an abundance of research opportunities.

Interested in learning more about what a career in Oncology may look like? Look no further! Our club aims to provide many learning opportunities for medical students interested in this discipline to help them explore the wide variety of career options available. You shouldn’t have to wait until the last block of pre-clerkship to learn about this amazing field of medicine! Throughout the year we will be holding some very exciting events including:

·   Introduction to Medical Oncology Lunch Talk 

·   Introduction to Radiation Oncology Lunch Talk

· “Day at the Cross Cancer Institute” field trip to see the institute and the Gamma Knife Suite

· Shadowing Opportunities at the UAH and Cross Cancer Institute

·  Residents’ Panel with residents from various subspecialities such as Radiation Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Hematology Oncology and Pediatric Oncology
