MedLit
The MedLit club is focused on discussing various forms of medical literature (i.e., patient-oriented research, medical association articles/blog posts, narrative essays by physicians/students, etc), thinking critically about current or hot topics in medicine that will be relevant to our practice as future physicians, and provide a space for community and connection while exploring Edmonton’s food scene.
We aim to hold monthly casual and fun events at new restaurants/cafes in Edmonton for our discussions. There will also be opportunities for club members to choose the theme, topic, or piece of literature for meetings and lead small-group discussions.
Here's our recommended reading list so far:
Being Mortal by Atul Gawande
Letter To A Young Female Physician by Suzanne Koven
We Are All Perfectly Fine by Jillian Horton
Better by Atul Gawande
Complications by Atul Gawande
When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi
Do No Harm by Henry Marsh
The House of God by Samuel Shem
What Doctors Feel by Danielle Ofri
