Humanities Hub

Hippocrates, the father of medicine, lived in a time very different to our own. Classical Greece would seem very foreign indeed. The way people thought, behaved, dressed and ate was different. However, it is almost unbelievable that the way we perceive our bodies and our illnesses hasn’t really changed all that much. And the advice Hippocrates gave remains very much the same: first, do no harm.

Join the Humanities Hub to learn about the Humanities, how they can help us understand our future patients - and how they can help us understand ourselves. Lectures in the cutting edge of History, Classics, Language, among others, with and without a medical focus, provide the opportunity to expand our ways of thinking. By moving out of the rigidity of STEM and into the exciting and ancient arena of the Humanities, we can become more attuned to the skills and requirements of the ancient art of medicine.
