The RCPSC Specialty Training Requirements in Medical Microbiology (2018, Version 2.0) define the minimum training requirements for Medical Microbiolgy Residents as five years of approved residency training. Training is scheduled in progressive modules. Each module contains blocks of required curricula, with each block equaling four weeks.
● Module A: Basic Clinical Training (13 blocks)
● Module B: Diagnostic Microbiology Laboratory Training (26 blocks)
● Module C: Infectious Diseases (13 blocks)
● Module D: Approved Training Relevant to Microbiology (13 blocks)

Objectives for each of the rotations are provided below. Residents are responsible for forwarding objectives on to their preceptors and reviewing the requirements of the rotation with their preceptors at the beginning, and at the completion, of the scheduled rotation.
