This animated video was created as an introduction for Education 311: Teaching and Learning with Technology. It uses a custom character, animated in Adobe Animate, to greet students and introduce course themes in a lighthearted and approachable way. The character’s gestures were synchronized to a recorded voiceover to create a personable and engaging welcome for students.
I developed this animated course introduction to model creative and accessible ways technology can be used for engagement in online learning. The video was designed to help students feel comfortable and excited about exploring educational technology, while also demonstrating how animation can be used as a teaching tool.
The project was built entirely in Adobe Animate. I scripted the dialogue, recorded the narration, and aligned the character’s gestures to match tone and timing. The goal was to create a warm, welcoming introduction that also demonstrates how animation can communicate personality and enthusiasm in digital learning spaces.

This tutorial supports faculty learning by providing an on-demand resource for using Perusall in their courses. It contributes to a growing library of short instructional videos designed to make educational technology more approachable. The project also demonstrates my experience in video-based instruction, technology integration, and the design of concise, task-oriented training materials.
