NIVAN -
MONDAY - Worked on Physcial Assembly
TUESDAY - Discussed Bluetooth connection capabilities with Mr.Rojas. Proceeded to work on bluetooth schematic and figured out how to use MIT App Inventor in school computers
WEDNESDAY - Worked on setting up code for electrical components
THURSDAY - Looked over Mounting Plate STL file Julio worked on to see if any corrections and modifications needed to be made. STL Files should be prepared to print tomorrow.
FRIDAY - 3D printed the new mounting plate. Worked on the Motor Shield and Stepper Motor. Took components home to work on there.
HEATHER -
MONDAY - Worked on building
TUESDAY - Talked to Rojas about how to connect the Bluetooth module with the Arduino Uno.
WEDNESDAY - trying to setup the electrical components
THURSDAY - looked at the required data library that we would need for the project, turns out that it's blocked on the school computers. Going to look into it outside of school.
FRIDAY - Absent
JULIO -
MONDAY -

WEDNESDAY - Worked on modifying and remaking STL files for mounting plate

Goals for this week
Week 6:
Complete testing of physical components
Finish remaking the mounting plate design
Have the finished mounting plate printed
Start work on electrical components
If components are not fully tested take them home over the weekend to test
(Optional: Paint components to have a consistent color scheme)
Rojas gave us a tip on how to set up the Bluetooth module with the Arduino Uno with the pin shield. The module and connections called RX and TX, on the uno the pin numbers are 0 and 1. RX can't go to RX the same thing as TX. In order for the two devices to communicate with each other the opposite signals need to be transmitted with each other. This falls under the PLTW Design Process as Construct and test, since that we are in the building stage of our project. Trying to get all of the components built for we can being to see the product come together
New Mounting Plate design. The top two knobs would be where the control panel would be located on a fully scaled model. The control panel would have emergency buttons that could call for help or shut down the lift. This is represemtative of the developing solution phase of the project as even though we began work on the assembly of other components for this spefic part we went back and redeveloped it.
Example of how the railing will act on the fully assembled model. It is safe to say at this point in the project we are at the Construction and Testing phase as we are working on the presentable model and making sure everything works properly.
Goals for next week
Week 7:
Obtain new Power Supply
Work on electrical skematics
Test to see all electrical components are functional
Test Bluetooth
Ensure all nessesary Arduino libaries are installed
If all of the above have been completed start work on physcial assembly
(Optional: Paint components to have a consistent color scheme)
