University of Texas at Austin, PhD candidate in Analytical Chemistry
Secilia Garza Secilia earned a B.S. in biochemistry at TWU in 2019. While at TWU, she discovered her love for chemistry and decided to pursue research. Currently, Secilia is earning her PhD in analytical chemistry at the University of Texas (UT) at Austin. At UT, she is working in Tom Brenna's lipidomics lab where she uses her expertise in mass spectrometry to develop novel analytical methods and make chemical discoveries in lipid nutrition and physiology. Secilia hopes to pursue a career in industry where she can continue to make analytical scientific contributions as a lipid mass spectrometrist.
