At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Cathy Middlecamp is professor emerita in the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies. Her scholarship lies at the intersection of science, people, and the planet. Over her career, Middlecamp focused on teaching & learning chemistry in the context of real-world issues. From 2007 to 2016, Middlecamp served as the Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry in Context, a college curriculum project of the American Chemical Society. She was elected chair of the ACS Division of Chemical Education (2015-2017) and was the recipient of the ACS George C. Pimentel Award in Chemical Education (2019). As a senior associate, she contributed to the national curriculum project SENCER, Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities (2000-2020).
