Women Discovering Chemistry
The stories of what leads women to the fields of chemistry and biochemistry are intriguing and varied. Some women had a passion for scientific inquiry from a young age while others only discovered their keen interest after chasing other matters. Some are wives and some are mothers, some are athletes and some are activists, and some may be all or none of the above. How did these unique women arrive in their chosen field? Did somebody encourage them toward the sciences? What gave them the confidence to pursue such intellectual disciplines? What challenges did they face on their way? Did they face any specific difficulties due to their gender? If so, how did they overcome them? Regardless of their distinctive path, we are grateful to better know these impressive and successful women who are engaged in the sphere of chemistry and biochemistry.
