Hello Families!
My name is Sandra Lessels, and I am so excited to be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year! Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of teaching, guiding, and caring for your child. Kindergarten is such an exciting and important year, and I look forward to partnering with you as we help your child grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
I strive to create a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, encouraged, and excited to learn. My goal is to foster a love of learning while helping students build confidence, develop strong character, and discover that school is a place where they can succeed. Together, we’ll create a positive foundation that will support your child’s educational journey for years to come.
A little about me—I grew up in Florida but spent many years in San Diego, California, where I raised my family. I have two wonderful children: my daughter Emily, who is 21 and currently attending college, and my son, Ian, who is 23 and has a BS in Civil Engineering and is off into his career in traffic and transportation planning. After my youngest left for college, I decided to return home to Florida to begin this new chapter.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and 10 years of experience as an early childhood teacher. I am passionate about helping young children develop a love of learning while building the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to succeed. I am thrilled to bring that experience to my kindergarten classroom at The Villages Charter School – Buffalo Ridge Primary Center.
I believe children learn best when they feel loved, challenged, and celebrated. You can expect our classroom to be filled with engaging, hands-on learning, meaningful relationships, lots of encouragement, and, of course, plenty of smiles and laughter along the way!
Communication between home and school is very important to me. Please never hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or anything you’d like me to know about your child. I value our partnership and look forward to working together to make this a wonderful and successful kindergarten year.
I can’t wait to meet you and your child and begin this exciting adventure together!
