Dear First Grade Families!       

 Hello November!

We are so excited about our field trip to the Orlando Science Center Tuesday, November 11. We will leave the school by 8:15 and return by 3:00 in the 3-5 carline. Students need to be at school by 7:40 and will not need a backpack or water bottle that day. Uniforms are required and students can wear any color shirt. No money or cameras are allowed. Chaperones, please meet in my classroom at 7:50 for some brief instructions before we leave. 

The next Buffalo HERD meeting is Tuesday, November 4 at 6:00 at The Tracy. This is an Adult ONLY meeting. 

Here is what we are learning:

Week of November 3-7- Phonics- -es and -ed sounds, Reading-  Nonfiction, Math- Addition and Subtraction, Science- Properties of Matter

Week of November 10-14- Phonics- -ing and open and closed syllables, Reading- Nonfiction, Math- Addition and Subtraction, Social Studies- Long Ago and Today

Week of November 17-21- Phonics- compound words and open and closed syllables Reading- Nonfiction, Math- Addition and Subtraction, Social Studies- Long Ago and Today

Dates to Remember:

November 4- Buffalo HERD Meeting at The Tracy 6:00p.m.

November 8- Buffalo Market and Closet Clutter at the high school

November 11- Field Trip to the Orlando Science Center 8:00-3:00

November 12- Quarter 2 Midpoint

November 24-28- Fall Break

First grade is a fun year.  I am looking forward to a successful year!  I believe that you and I are a team working together to help your child develop emotionally and academically.  You are the most important person in your child’s life and you are also a teacher in your child’s life.  I know if we work together and communicate, your child will have a very successful year!
