Hello Families! Welcome to the wonderful world of kindergarten! Thank you for entrusting me to care for and educate your children. It is a privilege to work together with you as we watch your children grow in all areas of development. My number one goal is for students to love learning! 

In my class we are a family! I always tell students I am their class mom and they are my class children. Although I could never take your place, I want students to feel they are safe, comfortable, happy, able to take academic risks, and most of all, part of a loving school family unit.

To share a little about myself, I am originally from Pennsylvania and grew up with parents, who were both educators. I am the oldest of four children. I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. After marriage I moved to Maryland where my husband and I began teaching for Montgomery County Public Schools. Along came three children and a dog! I taught kindergarten for 20 years and my husband retired after 30 years as a physics teacher. My husband and I moved to Florida two years ago. My oldest daughter graduated from Penn State and my other two kids are at college here in Florida. How I wish my children were in kindergarten again! Time flies...so enjoy each moment! This is my third year at The Villages Charter School and I am excited for another year to partner with families and help students be successful in all areas of development!

Important Dates:

• August 4th- Meet the teacher orientation @ 11 a.m. OR 4 p.m. 

• August 6th- First day of school! 

• August 18th- Open House 6-7 p.m. 

• September 1st- Buffalo Herd Meeting @ 6p.m

General Reminders:

• We have a snack daily. Please be sure your child has a HEALTHY snack, packed separately from lunch and labeled with student's name.

• Please send a spill proof water bottle to school with your child daily. Please label it with their name. 

• Your child's agenda should be checked and initialed daily. 

• It is important that you indicate on a daily basis how your child will be getting home. Please write carline (CL) or aftercare (AC) in the agenda book EVERY DAY.

Students will participate in PE everyday from 9:30-10:00. Our class lunch time is 11:40-12:05. Our specials time will be 1:35-2:25 daily:

• Monday - Computer Lab/Spanish (20 minutes each)

• Tuesday - Computer Science

• Wednesday - Spanish/Computer Lab (20 minutes each)

• Thursday - Music

• Friday - Art

• Classroom Donations: $50 = 1/2 hour of P.I. 

• Prepping materials as needed throughout the year.

• Buffalo Pride meetings: Dates provided monthly.

• Treasure Box items

• Prepackaged snacks
