Credit Flex offers you the opportunity to earn high school credit without needing to complete traditional class hours. Earning credit in "non-traditional" ways, include, but are not limited to:
Testing to Show Mastery
We allow students to test out of certain high school classes. Students can master out of a 1-credit course (120 hours) by passing both semester A and semester B Credit Flex tests. The test must be taken at one of our regional offices. It cannot be taken at home. Students must receive an 80% or higher on each credit flex exam to receive credit. If you do not pass the test, you cannot take it again.
Completing a Project
Earn credit by completing exciting projects! This method allows a student develop a unique project that will demonstrate knowledge. All projects must be approved by the Credit Flex Committee beforehand. Students will need to outline the learning goals, action plan, assessments, and timeline in paragraph form. One example of an approved project was flying lessons (the demonstration of mastery was a successful flight)!
Students may apply for credit flex throughout the school year, but must be approved before beginning their credit flex project. All credit flexibility projects must be completed before the end of the current school year.
