The Inoue Enryo Research Center will host the Second Open Seminar, AY 2017.

Seminar Title: “Ways for citizens to use philosophy—To reclaim and break through”

Speaker: Hitoshi Ogawa

Hitoshi Ogawa was born in 1970 in Kyoto prefecture. He is a philosopher and an associate professor at the Faculty of Global and Science Studies at Yamaguchi University. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Kyoto University, and completed the Doctoral Program at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nagoya City University. He has a PhD in human culture. In the course of his unique career, he worked for a trading company and a city hall before entering academia. He joined Yamaguchi University after serving as an associate professor at the National Institute of Technology, Tokuyama College and a visiting research fellow at Princeton University. He puts philosophy-for-citizens into practice by leading activities such as the “Philosophy Cafe” in a shopping district, while advancing the new global education at the university. He also puts efforts into promulgating philosophy through various media such NHK Educational TV’s “100Pun de Meicho” (Famous books in 100 minutes). He specializes in public philosophy and has published over 100 books, some of which have been translated for publication overseas.

2017年度第2回井上円了研究センター公開講演会を開催いたします。

日時：　2018年3月10日（土）　13-15時

論題： 「市民が哲学を生かす方法―取り戻し、切り開くために―」

講師：　小川 仁志

1970年、京都府生まれ。哲学者・山口大学国際総合科学部准教授。京都大学法学部卒、名古屋市立大学大学院博士後期課程修了。博士（人間文化）。商社マン、市役所職員を経て研究者となった異色の経歴。徳山工業高等専門学校准教授、米プリンストン大学客員研究員等を経て現職。大学で新しいグローバル教育を牽引する傍ら、商店街で「哲学カフェ」を主宰するなど、市民のための哲学を実践している。また、Ｅテレ「１００分de名著」などのテレビをはじめ、各種メディアにて哲学の普及にも努めている。専門は公共哲学。著書も多く、海外での翻訳出版も含めると１００冊以上。
