Your enrollment in the Indianapolis Teaching Fellows program is contingent on your ability to meet the requirements for the ITF-MAT graduate program in the Klipsch Educators College at Marian University. Since certain items on the ITF application are self-reported (GPAs, for example), the Marian team will need time to review official documents applicants submit (transcripts, test scores, etc.) before granting an offer of admission.

The application to Marian University will begin in the finalist stage of the application process, but the admission decision comes during your enrollment. All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Your bachelor's degree must be approved by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the US Department of Education. Please reach out to a representative from Marian University to determine if your institution meets the accreditation requirements. It is not necessary to have a degree in education to be eligible for our program.
Prior Education
Applicants' undergraduate grade point average must meet one of the following:
3.00 on a 4.00 scale
2.50-2.99 with five years of professional experience ("relevant" experience is determined by Marian's licensing department)
Additionally, fellows may:
Hold a graduate level degree in the subject area in the subject area applicant desires to teach
Background Check
Applicants are asked to complete a background check through the Indiana State Police - INkless. It's essential that you follow the instructions provided at www.marian.edu/backgroundcheck when scheduling your appointment. Official Transcripts
Marian University requires official, final transcripts from all post-secondary institutions that you have attended. To be official, transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to Marian University. For additional information regarding transcript submission, visit www.marian.edu/transcripts

Secondary Review Process
Secondary Review Process
An official GPA lower than 2.50 (from the degree conferring institution) may prohibit candidates from being admitted to Marian University. If this is the case for you, your application will undergo secondary review. All candidates who have applications under secondary review must submit additional documents that will likely include:
At least one letter of recommendation from a colleague
A personal statement explaining your desire to pursue education and be admitted to Marian
Proof of passing the Praxis® content exam in your selected subject area.
If you know ahead of time that your undergraduate GPA falls under 2.50, please mention this to the ITF manager during your initial Zoom meeting so that you can begin the process of securing your additional documents. There is a possibility that you will also need to submit a basic skills assessment score (such as ACT, SAT, or GRE).
All supplemental documents must be submitted by May 15, 2025.
