Every Monday students will go over a list of spelling words that follow a specific sound/spelling pattern. Lists may also include "tricky words," which are words that break the rules for the sound/spelling pattern. Students will do word work with their lists of spelling words throughout the week. Tests will be given on Friday. Each test will cover all of the words and may include bonus words as well.
Weekly Spelling Lists will begin during the Second Quarter. Tests will be every Friday (unless otherwise stated).
Students are encouraged to practice their spelling at home. Feel free to use the worksheet sent home on Mondays, this Spelling Tic-Tac-Toe game, flash cards, or any other fun way you find to learn new words!
