It all began already in 2013 when the NOrdic-BAltic NETwork for internationalization of SMEs (Nobanet) was founded. The aim was to cooperate with the companies at international level, and bring higher education institutions closer to companies by making learning more practical and support companies to go abroad.
Nobanet produced learning materials, handbooks for SMEs wishing to internationalize, building up new tools, including cross-border assignments and e-learning environments. Students still use the developed tools to work on real-life projects with SMEs and startups across the region.
Both Tallinn Technical University of Applied Sciences (TTK) and University of Akureyri (UNAK) were the active partners of Nobanet and co-operated at different levels. Strong working relationship was built and when the lecturers of TTK proposed to continue the co-operation and write a new project, it wasn´t hard to get the YES from UNAK.
