We had a fantastic visit from Ruth Quayle an author who has written many fantastic books for children of all ages. She spent time with all year groups helping to strengthen their insatiable reading and also develop a love of writing. The children had a super time and produced some lovely work during her workshops.
Year 6 have been have tried their very first Year 6 SATs papers this week. We have all been very impressed with how well they have applied themselves during the week to this assessments. Teachers will be marking using the information they have gathered from these papers to plan and deliver targeted lessons and interventions.
On Friday, Year 6 and Year 1 finished the afternoon with the first 'Buddy Reading' session of the academic year. It was lovely to see how well the Year 6 children worked alongside the younger children; reading them stories and helping them with their reading.
On Friday 10th October we will be taking part in World Mental Health Day in support of Young Minds.
Children and adults in school will be taking part in a number of activities to help promotes positive wellbeing.
Children are encouraged to come to school wearing something yellow -a lovely bright colour which will hopefully make everyone smile!
During the day, the children will also be taking part in walk and talk within the school grounds. Walking and talking is a great way to boost your wellbeing...let's hope the sun shines!

Please remember that attendance at school is important. Regular attendance (96% or above) allows a child to feel part of the school community; build secure relationships with their peers and adults; and builds firm foundations for learning.
Regular absence builds up. If 2 days a month over an academic year is missed, this is equivalent to 19.5 days of lost learning.
If you are thinking about booking a holiday, please check the academic calander which are on the school website to ensure that these holidays are booked within the school holidays:
