This week we have been talking to the children about respect both of our peers and of the adults in school. Respect is a key part of the Tithe Farm Way and is something which everyone deserves. Please support your children to understand that kind words and hands are part of showing respect to others.
Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to the Science Museum in London this week. They explored the museum looking at Earth and Space in particular. The adults who support this visit fedback that they were excellent ambassadors for the school which is lovely to hear.
I had the pleasure of teaching year 6 on Wednesday - they worked incredibly hard and showed me their excellent maths and writing skills. It is always lovely to be back in the classroom to support learning.
This term we have introduced a new scheme of writing. The scheme is linked to the National Curriculum and ensures that children build the necessary skills to become competent writers.
Even though we are only 3 weeks into delivering this new style of teaching we have seen improvements in the structure and content of the writing produced by the children in all year groups.
The picture to the left is the publish final piece from Matteo in Year 4. His newspaper article informs the reader all about a theft which happened within Emerald class.
We will continue to share these fabulous pieces of work as they are completed.
HCL (our school meals provider) have advised us that from 1st March 2025 the price of school dinners will increase. The new price per meal will be £2.63.
HCL are committed to delivering high quality meals which contain lots of fresh ingredients. From April they will also be rolling out exciting new menus for the summer term.
We have a number of children in Reception who have chickenpox. If your child has chickenpox you will need to keep your child off school until all the spots have formed scabs. This is usually 5 days after the spots have appeared.
Do:
Ensure that your child drinks plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
Take paracetamol for children to help with the pain and discomfort.
Cut your child's fingernails and put socks on their hands at night to stop them scratching.
Speak to a pharmacist about using antihistamine medicine to help itching.
If you are concerned about your child or symptoms become worse please contact your GP or 111 for further advice.
