Tithe Farm Primary School
What a Wonderful World
What a Wonderful World
This week we have been thinking about impeccable behaviour and what this looks like. Impeccable behaviour is one of our curriculum drivers - by the time your child leaves Tithe Farm we want them to know how to behave appropriately. In assembly this week we talked about how difficult it is to have impeccable behaviour all of the time and what to do should we make a mistake. This included owning the behaviour and putting it right with the support of the adults in school.
It has been Year 4's week this week. On Tuesday, we enjoyed Emerald's class assembly which was all about Greek Gods. I particularly enjoyed the rap at the end! Yesterday we held our Learn Together event for Year 4. Thank-you to all the families who joined us and shared learning activities with their children.
As I write this, a team of Year 6 children are preparing to take part in a Sports Hall Athletics competition. We are sure that they will demonstrate the Tithe Farm Way and make us all proud!
We thank our families from not smoking or vaping on our school site as per our smoke free policy. Please could we ask families not to congregate on the school boundary (by the fence, just outside the carpark etc) and smoke/vape. This will help to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent our children having to walk through a smoky area.
Don't forget that after school next Friday is the Friends of Tithe Farm's first Christmas Fair in a number of years.
If you have tombola prizes please deliver these to the office so that they can be passed on to be labelled up.
As well as the FOTF stalls, the children will be selling 'homemade' Christmas items which they will have made on Christmas Decoration Day. Please ensure you have cash avaliable to purchasethese items. All monies raised from this stall will go directly to the classes to spend on resources for learning.
Please make a note of the following important dates for our events leading up to Christmas:
Monday 2nd December: Christmas decoration day
Friday 6th December: Yrs1-6 Christmas Carol @ 2:30pm
Friday 6th December: FOTF Christmas Fair @3:45pm
Thursday 12th December: Christmas Jumper Day
Friday 13th December: Interim Reports to families
Friday 20th December: Break the Rules Mufti (rules to follow)
Friday 20th December: End of term @3:30pm
Thank-you to the families who have already visited the book fair this week. It has been great to see the excitement around new books.
The fair will be in school until Tuesday 3rd December so if you haven't been already, there is still time to visit and buy some Christmas presents!
For all books bought, the school will receive a percentage to spend on books for our class libraries which means that there will be new books in school as well!
School Council have put 2 questions to their peers this week.
Would you like 1 big attendance raffle at the end of the academic year or 3 smaller ones at the end of each half term?
What would you like the reward to be for the winning house each term?
They have taken this back to classes and the votes were almost unanimous:
The children would like 1 large raffle at the end of the academic year.
The children would like either a movie afternoon or fun afternoon for the house with the most house points.
These requests will be acted on - an afternoon at the end of term has been booked in for the winning house's treat and the raffle will take place at the end of the academic year.
Whole school to date: 94.4%
Whole school this week: 95%
Next week we will be having an attendance focus - there will be raffle tickets on offer every day for the children who are in school on time each day. Raffle tickets are being collected and will be entered into our end of year prize draw!
What families are expected to do :
Ensure their child attends every day the school is open except when a statutory reason applies.
Notify the school as soon as possible when their child has to be unexpectedly absent (e.g. sickness).
Only request leave of absence in exceptional circumstances and do so in advance.
Book any medical appointments around the school day where possible.
