This week we have loved having our families visit the classrooms so that the children can share their learning. It has been fabulous to see so many families joining us...I think we may need bigger classrooms! Teachers have been really impressed with how well the children's oracy skills are developing; they have noticed more confidence and projection of voices which is exactly what we are aiming for with our focus on developing good oracy skills.
Some of our Year 5 children have been completing Bikability this week. They have learnt how to stay safe on the roads when riding their bikes. Riding a bike safely is an excellent skill which allows children to be more indepedent in their travel, have fun and keep active. Look out for further courses which we will run. These will support children in Year 5 who are learning to ride.
If you haven't already, please remember to call, email or drop into the office to book parents evening appointments. Parents evening is taken place next Tuesday and Wednesday after school. It is a great opportunity to find out how your child is doing and what you can do to support them in their learning.
Bedfordshire Football Association have said that families may park their cars in the car park on Tithe Farm Road at drop off and collection. This will ease congestion on the roads and support being active at the start and end of the day.
Please could I remind families not to park in the neighbourhood centre car park this does not belong to the school and is only for the use of the staff and members of the cimmunity who are using the centre.
Last week Talia (year 6) became our first Learning Superhero of 2024-25! This means that she has demonstrated all of the learning learning behaviours we value at Tithe Farm.
To become a Learning Superhero, children need to collect all 9 of the learning friends in an academic year. To do this they need to demonstrate: perservenance, creativity, friendship, curiosity, teamwork, reflectiveness, intelligent talking, balance and coordination and making links in their learning.
Teachers look out for these and award learning friends as they are seen. I know there are several Year 2 children who are very close...I wonder who will be next!
School Council and the Safety Squad requested that the school provide more opportunities for play during break and lunchtime. Following this request, Mrs Ryan and Mrs Middleton have been working behing the scenes to buy and ordganise equipment and to trainin play leaders. This week as part of Children's Mental Health Awareness Week we introduced some of the equipment. As you can see from the pictures the children loved it and were engaged in active play throughout their breaks. Over the next few weeks we will introduced other activities to support play/
